SQM ups lithium sales volumes forecasts, swings to loss

Chilean lithium miner Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM) has increased its forecasts for lithium sales volumes this year, after swinging to a loss in Q1 2024. Sales volumes are now expected to reach 200,000 tonnes, as the total lithium market demand is set to grow by another 20% in 2024 to over 1.1 million t, SQM says.
