SQM expects similar sales in Q4 amid stalled lithium market
Chilean lithium giant SQM said Thursday it expects similar or lower sales volumes in Q4, as excess inventories and additional supply continue hurting lithium demand, Kallanish reports.
The company saw revenues from its lithium business contract 45% year-on-year in Q3 to $1.3 billion, despite record high sales of 43,000 tonnes. The drop in sales revenue reflects a nearly 47% collapse in lithium realised prices, compared to the previous year.
