SQM-Codelco deal does not need shareholder vote, rules Chile
SQM shareholders will not be required to hold a special meeting to approve the Codelco deal, says Chile's financial regulator.
The Chilean Financial Market Commission states the responsibility lies on SQM’s board of directors, Kallanish reports. The resolution comes after Tianqi Lithium Corporation, SQM’s second-largest shareholder, called for an extraordinary meeting to vote on the joint venture partnership agreed with Codelco last month.
