Shell, partners start-up Europe’s largest PEM electrolyser
Shell said Friday it has commissioned Europe’s largest polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyser at its Rheinland refinery in Wessling, near Cologne, Kallanish reports.
The so-called Refhyne project was developed in partnership with electrolyser manufacturer ITM Power, research company SINTEF, and consultants Sphera and Element Energy. The 10-megawatt electrolyser powered by renewables has also been financially backed by the European Commission. …
