SAIC mulls bringing MG production to Europe
Chinese automaker SAIC is mulling plans to build electric vehicle production capacity in Europe for its British marque MG Motor brand, Kallanish reports.
The move reflects a response to the increase in import tariffs for all-electric cars made in China and imported into the EU. SAIC has the largest average rate at 38.1% on top of the existing 10% duty. This means a 48.1% tariff could be applied to SAIC and MG models this year.
