Researchers develop solar-based module for H2 production
German researchers have developed a module that can produce hydrogen through direct solar water-splitting, Kallanish finds.
Three Fraunhofer institutes developed the technology as part of a PEC (photoelectrochemical cell) joint research project. The so-called tandem PEC module facilitates solar energy generation and hydrogen production in a single unit, the researchers say.
