Renault secures Moroccan low-carbon cobalt

Renault and Moroccan miner Managem Group have signed a seven-year procurement deal for the annual supply of 5,000 tonnes of cobalt sulphate for the automaker’s electric batteries. Managem will start delivering the material as of 2025, Renault says, adding that the procurement contract represents an annual battery production capacity of up to 15 gigawatt-hours.
