RARE EARTH: US DOE awards $19m in REE, critical minerals grants
The US Department of Energy is awarding $19 million in 13 grants to support the production of rare earth elements and critical minerals in traditionally fossil fuel-producing communities across the United States, Kallanish reports.
Such materials are critical to the development of batteries, magnets and other components important to the clean-energy economy, the agency says.
