Posco, CNGR break ground on South Korean nickel projects
South Korean steelmaker Posco announced its joint nickel projects with Chinese battery precursor leader CNGR have started construction in Pohang, North Gyeongsang, South Korea.
The projects include a nickel sulphate refinery with a production capacity of 50,000 metal nickel tonnes/year and a 110,000 t/y precursor project. Mass production is set to start in 2026, Kallanish understands.
