Novatek, NLMK bet on hydrogen to reduce emissions
Russia’s largest independent natural gas producer Novatek and steelmaker NLMK have signed a memorandum of cooperation to cut greenhouse gas emissions, Kallanish reports.
They will look into jointly testing carbon capture, utilization and storage solutions; as well as develop and improve hydrogen production technologies and transportation methods. NLMK adds the partnership includes the use of hydrogen fuel to reduce GHC emissions at the plant.
