NICKEL: Vale receives certification of low-carbon production

Vale`s nickel rounds produced at its Long Harbour refinery in Newfoundland are officially low-carbon, according to the product testing and certification company Intertek Group. “Canada’s rounds had a carbon footprint of 4.4 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per tonne of nickel in 2020, the last complete year for which figures are available,” Vale says.
