NICKEL, COPPER: Twin Metals to electrify Minnesota mine equipment, vehicles
Twin Metals Minnesota says it plans to electrify its mining equipment and support vehicle fleet to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its planned underground copper-nickel mine by 65%, Kallanish reports.
The company says the plan to acquire 65 electric vehicles will produce cleaner air than using diesel and will also reduce ventilation and heating needs underground, it says. That would make Twin Metals Minnesota the first mine in the state of Minnesota to adopt …
