NICKEL, COPPER: Biden administration seeking 20-year mining ban in Minnesota
The Biden administration is proposing a 20-year ban on mining near Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a move that would delay and perhaps kill Twin Metals’ planned $1.7 billion nickel-copper-cobalt-platinum mine, Kallanish reports.
In a statement, Twin Metals Minnesota says it is “deeply disappointed” by the proposed federal moratorium being sought by two federal agencies on nearly 93,077 hectares in Superior National Forest…
