NICKEL: CNGR sets JV to produce nickel matte in Indonesia
China’s CNGR Advanced Material Co announced Thursday plans to build a 70-30% joint venture in Indonesia to produce nickel matte with Singapore-based Rigqueza International.
The project would see CNGR producing 30,000 tonnes/year of nickel matte in a $243 million smelting project in Tsingshan’s industrial park in Sulawesi. Phase 1 of production is slated to cost $81 million and have a capacity of 10,000 t/y, Kallanish reports.
