NanoGraf opens silicon anode production facility in Chicago
US battery materials company NanoGraf has opened a large-volume silicon oxide manufacturing facility in Chicago, Illinois, Kallanish reports.
The facility will manufacture NanoGraf’s proprietary silicon anode material, which is used in lithium-ion 18650 batteries instead of graphite. If it achieves its expected material production capacity of 35 tonnes/year, the facility will create enough products to power 24 million battery cells annually.
