Metso halves water consumption in new pCAM plant
Finnish industrial machinery company Metso launched Thursday an intelligent precursor cathode active material (pCAM) plant promising “remarkable sustainability benefits.”
According to Mikko Rantaharju, vice president of hydrometallurgy at Metso, the solution reduces water consumption by around 52% and CO2 emission by roughly 31%. Power usage also decreased by 27%, based on a life cycle impact assessment carried out by the company.
