LITHIUM: Sigma Lithium inks offtake agreement with LG Energy Solution
Canada-based, Brazil-focused Sigma Lithium announced Tuesday a six-year offtake agreement with South Korean battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution (LGES), Kallanish reports.
The binding term sheet covers the supply of battery-grade and “sustainable” lithium concentrate between 2022 and 2027. Commercial deliveries should start on an optional basis next year with volumes of up to 15,000 tonnes. This may then increase to up to 50,000 t/y from 2024.
