Li-Cycle commissions its first European battery recycling facility
Ontario-based Li-Cycle has started commercial operations at its first lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Europe, located in Magdeburg, Germany, Kallanish reports.
The so-called Spoke facility will have capacity to process up to 30,000 tonnes/year of EV battery packs, running three lines. While the first main line was put into operations, the second should start later in 2023. An additional 10,000 t/y ancillary capacity is planned in the future.
