LGES, Honda set up Ohio JV for 40 GWh battery gigafactory
South Korea’s LG Energy Solution and Japan’s Honda Motor Co announced on Friday the formal establishment of their battery joint venture in Ohio, Kallanish reports.
The new company - likely to be named LH Battery Company, Inc - was registered in Jeffersonville, Ohio, with capital of $210 million. LGES will own 51% of the JV, which will exclusively supply lithium-ion batteries to Honda plants in North America.
