Japan advances ICE ban despite pushback
Japan is moving forward with a rumoured ban on internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle sales, Kallanish understands.
As reported in several mainstream media outlets - including Reuters and The Wall Street Journal - the ban would take effect in 2035 but would not affect the sale of hybrid vehicles.
The newly announced ban takes place against a backdrop of Japan’s push for carbon neutrality by 2050, as well as at least some Japanese automakers’ sā¦
