Idaho Power building Idaho's first 2 utility-scale BESS projects
Construction is underway on the first utility-scale battery energy storage projects in Idaho, Kallanish reports.
Utility Idaho Power is developing the 80-megawatt system at the utility’s Hemingway substation in Owyhee County and a 40 MW system is being added next to the Black Mesa solar project in Elmore County. The projects, both being built by Oregon-based Powin Energy, are scheduled to begin operations this summer.
