Higher copper prices boost hopes for California mine restart
US Copper Corp. says a surge in copper prices and critical minerals demand has driven interest in restarting its Moonlight-Superior project.
The company has begun discussions with potential strategic partners to resume production at the Lights Creek Copper District, which was operated from 1915 until 1930. It is located in Plumas County, California, and 125 miles from Tesla’s gigafactory outside Reno, Nevada.
