HEVs take over EU diesel market share in Q3
Sales of new hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) surpassed those of diesel during the third quarter for the first time in the European Union, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) said on Friday.
Registrations of hybrid electric passenger cars accounted for 20.7% of the total EU car market in the July-September period. The powertrain was the second most popular after petrol at 39.5%, with almost 500,000 units sold in the period.
