Gotion High-tech, Morocco agree $1.3 billion gigafactory investment
Chinese battery giant Gotion High-tech has signed a MAD 12.8 billion ($1.3 billion) investment agreement with the Moroccan government to build its battery gigafactory in Kenitra.
The project in northwestern Morocco will start production with a capacity of 20 gigawatt-hours and create 17,000 direct and indirect jobs, the government says. The agreement was signed on 6 June in the capital city of Rabat, Kallanish reports.
