GM posts record EV sales, fined over excess emissions
General Motors has posted a record quarter for US electric vehicle sales, though it was fined by authorities for excess emissions, Kallanish reports.
In the quarter to 30 June, the carmaker reported 21,930 deliveries, up 40% from the same period last year and 34% higher than the quarter to end-March.
Total EV deliveries in the first half of 2024 were 38,355 units. The states with the most demand were California, Texas, Florida, New York and Michigan.
