GM, Posco Chemical seal CAM JV deal in Canada
Posco Chemical and GM finalised on 27 May their cathode active materials (CAM) joint venture in Canada, enabling plant construction to start in August, Kallanish reports.
The South Korean battery materials company will hold 85% of the JV, with the US carmaker owning the remaining 15%. Together, they will invest $327 million to form Ultium CAM.
The plant in Quebec will have a capacity of 30,000 tonnes/year of cathode materials, with production slated for H2 2024.…
