GM plant idling could extend 2021 build schedule
US auto producer GM is temporarily idling three North American facilities due to a global crunch in the semiconductor market, Kallanish reports.
The semiconductor shortage and subsequent one-week idlings affect its facilities in Kansas City, Kansas; Ingersoll, Ontario; and San Luis Potosí, Mexico for the week of 8 February. GM is also temporarily curtailing its production in South Korea.
