GM continues push for “all-electric future”
US auto producer GM plans to continue its “...relentless pursuit of an all-electric future,” according to the company’s second-quarter earnings press release.
GM’s joint venture with LG Chem - dubbed Ultium Cells LLC - began construction during the quarter for a new battery cell manufacturing site in Lordstown, Ohio. Steel erection began July 29, Kallanish notes.
The company also moved to expand its electric vehicle portfolio.
