Global EV sales to eclipse ICE for the first time in 2047
Global sales of electric vehicles are expected to surpass internal combustion engine (ICE) sales for the first time in 2047, a new research from Wood Mackenzie reveals.
The consulting firm estimates that the combined sales of battery electric vehicle (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fuel cell (FCEV) light-duty vehicles will reach 62 million units per year by 2050. Then, 48% of all sales worldwide will be a BEV, 5% PHEV and 3% FCEV, Kallanish learns.
