Germany wins EU e-fuel fight, expects legislation next year
Germany says new EU regulation enabling e-fuel cars to be sold after 2035 should be in place by autumn 2024, following a deal with the European Commission late on Friday.
Transport minister Volker Wissing, who had been blocking the EU’s plan to ban ICE cars in 2035, confirmed in a statement that Germany has managed to ensure the element of “technology neutrality” within the framework of fleet CO2 limits regulation.
