FREYR, Nidec ink $3 billion cell offtake deal, JV agreement
Norwegian battery start-up FREYR Battery confirmed on Tuesday a new deal with Japan’s Nidec Corporation, which now includes a downstream joint venture, Kallanish reports.
The companies signed a binding cell sales agreement covering the supply of 38 gigawatt-hours between 2025 and 2030. Earlier, they had inked a conditional offtake agreement for 31 GWh of cells. Under the new terms, Nidec has an option to upside volumes to 50 GWh in the period and potentially…
