Fleet purchases boost UK new car market in February
The UK new car market recorded its best February performance in 20 years, with overall registrations growing by 14% on-year and battery electric car (BEV) registrations rising 21.8%, Kallanish reports.
Data from the automotive association SMMT shows carmakers sold a total of 84,886 cars last month. The market share of electrified vehicles, which include BEVs, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and hybrids (HEVs), rose to 36.7%, from 34.9% in February 2023.
