COBALT: Eve Energy to buy shares in Huayou Cobalt
Chinese battery maker Eve Energy and its controlling shareholder, Tibet Yiwei Holding, will invest RMB 1.8 billion ($278 million) in cobalt miner Huayou Cobalt via a private placement.
The investment was announced by Eve in a regulatory filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Tuesday, Kallanish notes. The deal is set to secure raw material supply to the battery maker, as well as fund Huayou’s expansion projects.
