EU sees all-electric car penetration surpass 20% for the first time
The EU new car market recorded a strong performance in battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations, with uptake surpassing 20% for the first time ever in August, Kallanish learns.
According to data from ACEA, there were 165,165 new BEVs on EU roads last month, representing an annual growth of 118.7%. The powertrain is the third most popular in the new car market, behind only petrol and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
