EU proposes new regulation for batteries
The European Commission (EC) confirmed on Thursday its proposal to modernise the bloc’s battery regulation and legislation to ensure a more sustainable, circular economy, Kallanish reports.
Officials said in a press conference that demand for batteries is rising rapidly and is set to increase 14-fold by 2030, with Europe to account for 17% of that demand.
