EU lawmakers agree on CO2 emission targets for trucks
EU lawmakers on Thursday agreed to phase out 90% of the new diesel truck sales in the bloc by 2040, setting new CO2 emission standards for heavy-duty vehicles, Kallanish reports.
The provisional political agreement announced by the European Council maintains the targets proposed by the European Commission, extends the scope of the regulation to vocational vehicles us as construction and waste trucks and addresses the issue of retrofitted vehicles.
