Engie, Equinor launch blue hydrogen project in Belgium
Energy companies Engie and Equinor confirmed on Thursday they are launching a feasibility study for a blue hydrogen project in Belgium, Kallanish reports.
The so-called H2BE project will produce hydrogen from natural gas using autothermal reforming (ATR) technology combined with carbon capture and storage (CCS). The companies say this technology allows for decarbonisation rates above 95% and for producing hydrogen at gigawatt-scale at competitive costs levels.
