Delayed battery recycling targets to hurt EU economy: T&E
Transport & Environment (T&E) says that environment ministers in Europe want to delay the introduction of battery recycling targets by three years from the EC proposal.
According to the green campaign group, governments want the recycled content requirement of 35% of all lithium used in batteries to be effective in 2029. It claims that it’s technologically possible for a more ambitious target of 70% to be applied from 2026.
