COPPERl: Alaska to file Pebble Project appeal to USACE
The state of Alaska says it intends to appeal the US Army Corps of Engineers’ rejection of the planned Pebble copper-gold-molybdenum-silver-rhenium mine in southwest Alaska, Kallanish reports.
Governor Mike Dunleavy says the decision is “flawed (and)…creates a dangerous precedent that will undoubtedly harm Alaska’s future.”
As owner of the land and the subsurface mineral estate, the state is authorised to appeal the permit rejection…
