COPPER: Global market heads to supply shortage on EV growth
The global copper market is heading into “multi-year deficits” driven by secular demand growth in renewables and electric vehicles (EVs), according to analysts at Jefferies.
In a research note sent to Kallanish, the analysts estimate “significant” supply shortages starting next year, leading to higher prices, which in turn will incentivise investment in new mines capacity.
