COPPER: Fire halts Vale's Salabobo mine production
Brazil’s Vale is temporarily halting copper production at its Salabobo mine in Marabá, in Pará state, the miner tells Kallanish. The measure follows an incident on 5 October, in which a conveyor belt caught fire.
Nobody was harmed in the accident, and there was no environmental impact.
