COPPER: Apaches seek to halt Arizona copper project
A US federal judge on Wednesday heard arguments from Apaches who have been fighting a proposed underground copper-molybdenum mine in eastern Arizona, Kallanish reports.
US District Judge Steven Logan in Phoenix, Arizona, must rule on the Apache Stronghold’s request for a preliminary injunction to block the mine project in the Tonto National Forest on land that includes Oak Flat, which is considered sacred by Apaches.
