Chinese EV influx in Myanmar gathers pace
Chinese electric vehicle sales have been expanding rapidly in Myanmar due to economic and policy changes, as well as their cost advantage, Kallanish notes.
According to Myanmar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications, in the past year, the number of EVs in the country increased more than six times. As of the end of January this year, there were more than 2,200 EV registrations, of which about 1,900 were licensed within the past year.
