Canadian EV battery industry to cost governments CAD 43.6 billion
Canada’s parliamentary budget officer (PBO) now estimates that government support around domestic EV battery manufacturing will cost more than CAD 43.6 billion ($31.8 billion).
Kallanish understands that financial support, sourced from both the federal and provincial governments, is CAD 5.8 billion higher than expected over a ten-year period. Previous estimates had placed the total at CAD 37.7 billion.
