BYD to invest CNY 8 billion in safer EV batteries in China
Chinese automaker BYD plans to invest CNY 8 billion ($1.17 billion) to construct a new battery factory in China. This new firm will produce safer blade batteries, Kallanish learns from BYD.
According to BYD, the safer blade batteries are less flammable. After the factory is constructed, it can reach production scale of 40 gigawatt-hours/year.
