BYD, KG Mobility to form battery JV in South Korea: reports
Chinese EV and battery manufacturer BYD is reportedly mulling a joint venture in South Korea with local carmaker KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong Motor Co.
According to several reports, the companies are planning to build a battery manufacturing plant to supply KG with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The cheaper chemistry, widely used in Chinese EVs, is said to be planned for KG’s mid-sized electric SUV Torres EVX, set to launch in September…
