BYD electric bus sales cancelled in Japan due to toxic substance
Japanese automaker Toyota's bus and truck brand Hino recently cancelled the launch of the Poncho Z EV, a type of 30-seat electric bus to be supplied by Chinese automaker BYD due to BYD's use of hexavalent chromium, a toxic substance, in the vehicle, Kallanish learns.
After several delays and failing to remove this substance from the final product after negotiating with BYD, Hino announced its decision.
