Britishvolt to build UK’s first battery gigafactory in the northeast
Britishvolt has chosen a site in the northeast of England to build the country’s first battery gigafactory, Kallanish learns from a company statement on Friday.
The £2.6 billion ($3.4 billion) investment will be made in Blyth, Northumberland, at the former Blyth Power Station site. The 95-hectare area provides “excellent” transport links and access to renewable energy, including hydropower from Norway via the North Sea Link project. …
