BHP lifts nickel exploration budget, focuses on battery demand growth
BHP said Wednesday it is boosting investment in nickel, with annual spending in exploration by the Nickel West unit being the highest since the company acquired the WMC assets in 2005.
Jessica Farrel, asset president at BHP Nickel West, told an industry conference in Kalgoorlie the company’s budget has had a “significant” lift in exploration expenditure over the next two years.
