BASF drops talks to source lithium in Chile
Germany company BASF, the world’s largest chemical producer, has dropped plans to source lithium from Chile.
The decision comes amid rising concerns about lithium oversupply and weak battery metals prices due to a slowdown in EV adoption worldwide.
BASF had been in talks with Wealth Minerals (WML), a Canadian miner operating in the South American country, “about a possible lithium cooperation.”
